or maybe we’re like pavement and skinned knee,
like, doritos after swimming, pruned hand
in a bubble bath, sloshing glittery
mixture like, grass pie left for fairyland.
or maybe we’re like “new-to-me" love seat
like, oil change reminder in the mail,
kitchen counter stack with nowhere to eat
like, tell me about your day in detail.
or maybe like, binoculars—and birds?
like, sharing the arts and culture section,
sharing my specs so you can read the words
like, is it too late—for introspection?
or maybe we are here. as in, us two.
as in, being. as in, it's all on cue.
